About the role

Plura is hiring a Marketing Manager to own and execute our entire marketing function — from customer insights and strategy to campaigns and creative. You’ll be the person who connects our product to the right audiences, helping us understand who our users are and how best to reach them. This role combines analytics, experimentation, and creativity, with plenty of room to scale as Plura grows.

This role requires:

Understand our users and growth channels

Build and maintain customer profiles to guide growth efforts
Analyze existing users and acquisition funnels to identify opportunities

Design and run paid marketing

Launch and manage paid ad campaigns across platforms
A/B test messaging and creatives to optimize performance
Manage relationships with ad agencies as needed

Grow organic presence

Oversee updates to Plura’s website, social channels, and community content
Drive promotion through partnerships and event producers

Create and experiment with new media

Design and launch creatives targeted at specific user segments and use cases
Run experiments to measure impact and refine campaigns

This is a part-time contract position, designed for a fully remote team member.

About Plura (formerly Bloom Community)

Bloom (formerly Together) is a Y Combinator backed startup based in Oakland, CA on a mission to use software to bring people together. Bloom is a dating community that organizes group dates in parks. Members tell us who they want to meet and then we organize 6-8 person meetups in parks. And, with a strong consent culture and referral-based community, we're the safest place to meet new partners and friends.

The team is Lauren Vegter, Aubrey Tull, and Dan Rhodes. Lauren spent 5 years at Facebook, most recently leading viral user growth for Instagram from 700M to past a billion users in two years. Aubrey has ten years of engineering experience from Stripe, Twilio, and Netflix. Dan is a former YC founder and was the first engineer at Atrium.

We recently launched and are seeing so much demand that we need to add additional engineering support. We are looking for an experienced full-stack engineer who is excited about using software to connect people and joining us on this wild startup adventure. Our app is built in React Native and Typescript running on a Node.js server and PostgreSQL. The role would be a contract to start with potential to convert to full-time. Candidates must be available to start immediately. We are based in Oakland, CA but candidates can live anywhere.
